Dear Sirs,
My cliant is religious, charitable & educational trust. They receive services for renovation of properties, educational, mandap services on religious occsssion from out side.
Sir, I want to know that above trust is liable for service tax on such services ?

Repairs of building used for commercial purposes ( such as giving out for marraiges) would be liable to ST. Other buildings used for education/ charitable / philantrophic purposes would be non commercial and therefore not liable.
What mandpa services do they recive? If it shamiana contractors then there is no exemption.
