i have a query that.......when an employee want to get relife u/s 89, then it is compulsory to get permission of the same from the assessing officer? And when and how he get permission (procedure)?

Since Income tax follows the procedure of self assessment therefore there is no requirement of taking any permission from AO for claiming the relief u/s 89
