Is mother's-mother covered under relative definition

for what purpose see relative definition ig different for section 56 and diff in section 2


but in both case I think it is not covered pls confirm the same

Yes mother's Mother is relative as per Sec 56(2)

In the section it is said Grand Mother
Grand Mother includes not only Father's Mother it also includes Mother's Mother

in that it is said that any lineal ascendant
it means it can be from Father side or Mother side
