Where the Main object of the company is Investment in stock/Loan Giving/Hire Purchase etc. and its paid up capital is Rs. 2 Crore and above, it may apply to RBI for granting NBFC(Non-Deposit taking) status; else, the companies act, 1956 empowers the Board under section 292, by passing a resolution to that effect, the company can make investment.
