I think that it shud be regd. BEcause earlier the land was in the name of the transferor co. As the transferee co has taken over the transferor co, the trasnferor co is no longer in existence. So as the land is in use by the transferee co so the co shud get the land regd in it's name.
If it is sale & purchase of land between 2 co's (wheter pvt or public) it needs to be registered.
