How to claim refund of cess due to wrongly deposited of Rs 218000 in challan ?

Dear Rajat,

You can apply for the refund online.

After logging into GST site, follow below steps:

Services > Refunds> Application for refund>Refund of Excess Balance in Electronic Cash Ledger

The amount shall be refunded to the account linked at the time of registration.

Vamshi ji, You have to submit the hard copy of that application to ur jurisdiction also.

Dear Mr Singh,

Am not sure where such requirement is specified. Clients were able get refunds through above process.

yes memdetory to submit your RFD -01 PRINT out manually to juridictional authoriy ... without submit you cant get refund...

My reply was based on Rule 89: 89. Application for refund of tax, interest, penalty, fees or any other amount.-(1) Any person, except the persons covered under notification issued under section 55,claiming refund of any tax, interest, penalty, fees or any other amount paid by him, other than refund of integrated tax paid on goods exported out of India, may file an application electronically in FORM GST RFD-01through the common portal, either directly or through a Facilitation Centre notified by the Commissioner Couldn't see any requirement for submitting the hard copy of the RFD-01

necessarry to submit RFD 01 manually and portal both other then export refund.... without submit you cant get refund

We had entered an amount under the head cess instead of igst in gstr 3b of July by mistake n submitted. Since it was inexorable had to deposit the cess so that gstr 3 b cud be filed. Please advise fr refund as it is not showing in cash ledger.
