Dear Friends

Suppose X is a government department with aggregate turnvoer of more than Rs. 200 crore.

Now does it have to get itself registered BOTH as TAXAPYER and TAX DEDUCTOR.

Or only its registration as TAXPAYER is enough.

shivani

Depends whether it is liable to deduct TDS under GST
If Govt concern have GST no. then no need to get registration for TDS , but make sure that
Plz ignore my above reply. A deductor in GST will be required to get registered and obtain a GSTIN [Goods & Services Tax Identification Number] as a TDS deductor even if he is separately registered as a supplier.
