Refund of Tax

Tax queries 755 views 11 replies

Hi , I have a query on refund of tax.

One of my friend working in an online tutoring co. say "X" He has worked in that co. for 5 months at a salary of Rs 22000/- p.m. After that, he quit due to exam. and again join another co. "y"  for 3 months from jan to march 2010. salary @ 25000/- p.m. Both co. has deducted TDS assuming salary of 12 months devided by 12. where as his total income for P.Y is only 185000/-.

So does he entitled to tax refund which has been deducted by way of excess  TDS?

Is it possible to claim this refund by simple tax return filling with TDS details in efilling mode?

Yes He Is Entitled To Refund

Yes

Yes, he can claim the refund and it is not necessary to file the return electronically to claim refund.

Hi,

Yes Mr.X is entilted for refund but he has to file the return for claiming refund.

I agree with all. He is eentitled to refund. However, I suggest e-filling as I have heard that in e-filling, refund is processed faster

yes entitled for refund...

Yes refund is claimable.................

Dear Raju

In this case i a person do job only for month or few days and then company deduct tax but tax is payable from that assessee then also he can claim for refund.

Means to say that if ur tax has been deducted above from actual limit then u can claim it as refund.

Regards

ofcourse he his tax liablity will be refundable!!

Thank you very much friends.........................

Yes i agree with all them because your friend has the eligibility to claim refund and it is better to file the return through e-filing because we can easily update our refund status and we can easily obtain the acknowledgement. By that there is no further matters to getting our refund through e-filing.
