Refund of fees

Hello, 

I had filled and submitted Form INC 2 for a company and the same had got rejected because stamp duty was not paid on time. I re-filed the INC 2 and it was finally approved. I have an active CIN number now. 

Now, I wanted to apply for refund of the fees that was paid for the erstwhile Form which was rejected. However, when I downloaded the "refund form" and filled in the CIN number obtained, the form is not accepting the CIN number saying that "ENTER A CIN HAVING STATUS AS ACTIVE OR UNDER LIQUIDATION".

My CIN is active, then why do I get this message? I am not able to proceed and time for the refund claim is lapsing. Please help.
