One of my client applied for refund and got his cheque. In the mean time he close his bank account which is mentioned in ITR 4 without any intimation to me. Thereafter he came to me after six months said " sir i have received the cheque from IT Dept. Subsequently i closed my bank account without any knowledge for the convenience of my business. IT Refund Cheque is expired for non deposit within 90 days.
What are the remedial steps.
I have sent a cancelled cheque with the new bank account number along with the response sheet, till now he did not get any communication and the online status alway saying "Expired Cheque".
How the assessee going to get his cheque for the asst.year 2010-11.
