Is there any way to reduce late fees of GST return?
Actually I have not filed the GST return from April 18 and now I got a notice from department for not filing the return.
My question is If I filed nil return for 6 month i.e upto September and show all bill in October month, I have to pay 20 Rs late fees instead Rs 50.
is it correct or not?
Please provide any way to reduce the late fees.

As per section 12 & 13 (Time of supply of goods and time of supply of services) it is not correct way to reduce the late fee. You have to pay the tax as per the provision of the section.
and if you will pay the tax of preceding months in October month then you have to pay tha interest @ 24% due to excess reduction of output tax.
