Hello, I would like to know if redemption/ extinguishment of Listed NCD (Shriram transport, Muthoot, PFC, IFCI.....)
considered as 'transfer' by income tax and subject to capital gains/ loss.
Eg: If I buy a NCD for 1100 and at redemption/ extinguishment get face value of 1000. Do I report capital loss of 100?
CDSL only reports sale of NCD in AIS report and not extinguishment. I am not sure why
