Rectification file means xml file created through rectification of errors in original file which you have already filed.

you have to make rectification from order came from bangloru CPC u/s 143(1) if u r disagree with tax payable. u can file rectification from incometaxindiagov.in MY ACCOUNT, RECTIFICATION, RACTIFICATION UPLOAD. u have to also enclosed your xml file after chages in CHOOSE FILE.

Thanks for the replies...The problem is that Income tax departnment it self has errorered in not giving me credit of self assesment tax...The Return was perferct..should I just upload the orginal return again?

are you mentioned the PAN and assessment year detail correctly while paying the self assessment tax if it is correct credit will automatically shows in 26as if any one of the detail filled mistakely in challan you can contact your AO with regard this matter directly for that you need not file the revised return u/s.154

Confirm for the entry in 26AS and if its there, file the rectification for seeking correction in ITR processing.

I have filled wrong Date of Credit (22-07-2011 instead of 22-07-2012) in Self Assessment Tax field due to this, I got the Order from Income tax.
Can I file rectification request for the same? or I have to file revised return?
