I have received -- notice from income tax demanding me to pay 207260 rupees for AY 2008-09.I have paid & filed my taxes regularly.
I dont know the reason for getting this notice.
Can anyone here clarify what could be the reason for getting this notice?
I tried to raise rectification request for the same.But https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in website doesnt have option to rectify AY 2008-09.

In this regard the objection raised by the dept. relevant preceding year find out the ack. and check the tax details if details are matched with your return then you send the tax deposit documents. If your return not matched with details then your correspondence with the dept. otherwise facing huge problems in this regard and also time to time discussed with the CA club.

Hi Harendra Kumar,
Thank you very much for the response.I tried to rectify this problem with the help of one CA.Last year he said he filed for rectification.But till now i have not received anything from income tax dept.
Do they really take one year to respond?Does that mean my CA is lying to me?
Please help me how to approach income tax dept in this regard.Do they entertain people who would visit them personally.Because my CA said they accept only online applications.

Further discussed the said matter through help line of Income tax dept. and find out the same number from website and discussed the mater para- wise. Hope you recd. fruitful result in this regard and also requested to send to us the same remedy for further clarification.

many people are facing same problem. for the time being, you do one thing prepare a covering letter mentioning all the facts and attach all the required documents like your ITR , tax payments challans etc and file the same with your AO and also send one set of same documents to banglore CPC
