Hi ,
I have recently been appointed as a CS in a private company.It is a subsidiary and has two subsidiaries under it.
What should be the initial steps that i should take and the compliances I need to check .How do I go about it.I have already asked the PCS to give me the MOA and AOA of the Company and also the Minutes.Ill upload my form 32. What else should I do?
Please guide.

Although there is no specific method to initiate but you can follow the following:
1) Create a brief profile like name , Registered Office, Share Capital, Directors, Shareholders etc .of the joining Company
2) Check the status of annual filling like 23AC-ACA , 66 & 20B
After going through all these you will automatically find the way to proceed. And yes going through the MOA-AOA as u did is no doubt a smart initiation,

you may also take the resolution of the Board confirming your appointment as the company secretary of the company and also citing your responsibilities therein.
Also an entry as to your appointmen as the CS is to be done in register maintained under section 303 of the companies act
Thank You for the quick reply Priyanka.Im yet to receive the MOA and AOA, Minutes though..I have also asked for all the resolutions filed by the company.However most of them have not been signed. It is the first time the company has appointed an in house CS so its like I have to start right from scratch Do I need to register myself on MCA..like have a log in ID or is it specific to only PCS?
No..there is no need or you to register on MCA etc...
though you may do it to check the status of the comany and other details...
