Can Service Tax credit be claimed on a bill raised on the letter head of the contractor and bill made with pen and service tax number wrote in pen ?Plz reply urgently.

You can take the input credit of service tax and for more clearfication you can sak the photocopy of service tax registration no from the contractor.

There is a limit of audit of accounts based on T/O and not any regulation relating to audit of ST,VAT on specific basic although there can be enquiry and investigation for the same by the concerned Assessing officer
