What can be found out from the 10 digit pan no.? All I know is that the 4th letter stands for the status eg. P for Personal, F for Firm, C for Company, T for Trusts etc.
But can we find out anything else from any other digit? Like location etc.?

Thanks!
So this means only the 4th and 5th letter depend upon the constitution and name of the assessee. The rest are just randonly created alphabets/numbers, correct? Obviously, the first five are alphabets, next 4 are digits and again the last one is an alphabet, but apart from the above 2, all are just random?
