Be confident about your paper,” is 21-year-old Mandar Dixit’s advice to aspirants of Chartered Accountancy (CA). He is the All India topper at the CA final exams for 2008-09 held by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India on July 12.

Dixit, a student of Mulund College of Commerce, has also topped in both, the CA Foundation and Inter exams. “I was confident that I would be among the toppers this year and I am very glad that I made it,” said Dixit.

Currently working as an intern with HSBC bank, he intends to start practising privately. In the Accounts and Management Information communication Systems subject Dixit scored more than 80 per cent. Dixit loves to play ‘gully cricket’ and watch movies. “I find time to relax and enjoy. Consistency is the key to success, I believe,” he said.

As far as coaching is concerned, he said, it does help but there is no substitute for hard work. “Coaching can help to a certain extent but I suggest students not take up coaching blindly. One should not think that merely going to a coaching class can help you pass. You have to keep solving problems in subjects like Accounts, Tax, etc. Practice is what will help in exams,” said Dixit.

His parents, Alka and Pramod Dixit were elated at his result. “He has always done us proud. We are very happy,” they said.
