Hello

To offset loss against shares with ltcg on sale of agricultural land should both transaction take place in same fy and is it compulsory for the loss to be booked first before realising the ltcg on land ? Kindly clarify.

LTCL and LTCG can be of different years. However it's only when the LTCL booked in an earlier year can be adjusted in future against LTCG.

However, no such sequence required in case of long term capital gain loss of the same year.
