It is not at all necessary to file a hard copy of return filed electronically to the dept.

Though it is not necessary, it is appreciated to file since the online facility of ACES is not fully developed so as to enable the service tax challan verification. There is concept similar to Form 26AS [Income Tax] in service tax. In order to avoid communication from the department asking for challans, it is in better interest of the department as well as the assessee to submit the return along with challans to the department and obtain ack.

no need to submit as per ACES guidens. But keep all books of A/cs, Input credit proofs and Be prepare to submit anytime.
