Query on articleship working hours (case)

Quoting hereunder the rules regarding articleship hours:

"The working hours for the articled assistants shall be 35 hours in a week excluding the lunch break"

"Further, where the articled assistant is required to work beyond normal working hours, and aggregate of such hours exceed 35 hours per week, he/she shall be entitled to compensatory leave calculated with reference to number of completed working hours, over and above, 35 hours per week"

Now my query regarding these rules:

Say, I went on an audit outstation. I used to go out of my house at 6:00 AM in the morning, travel 4 hours to reach my audit destination at 10:00 AM. I work there upto 04:00 PM including half an hour of lunch break. I travel back to reach my home at 08:00 PM. This same schedule goes on for 6 days, i.e Monday to Saturday.

How many hours shall i be deemed to have worked in the week?

Sorry but the link does not open...

Okay, the link finally opened, but i still cannot calculate the hours worked in the week..

Will it be 33 hrs? Or more since i gave 14 hrs of my day for office purposes...

I think its not good way of calcuting hours and all... do u have any other prob in office.... or only the long working hour is being a problem ...

usually many articles went for outstation audits.. so that doesnt mean that they wil calcut 24hrs hour working because they are out from home because of audit

Then i better refuse to go to audit, cause after giving 72hrs of my time in the week, it doesnt even counts as minimum 35 hrs. My principal says that it will count as 33 hrs and i am 2 hrs short and will have to make up later on.

Another similar instance, in the week of the Independence Day, i worked for 32 hrs (excluding lunch break) in 5 days of the week, and 15th Aug was holiday. The Principal says that i am 3 hrs short and will have to compensate later on.

Is it only me, or does this sound unfair anyone else? It was not my fault that it was a public holiday in the week.

Is my Principal right on both accounts? Can i do something about it?
