It is mandatory for companies and Tax audities to pay income tax electronically w.e.f. 01/04/2008.
My query is Whether an assessee can pay income tax electronically through the bank a/c of an another person, because the assessee does not have internet banking facility in its city.
I would appriciate your quick reply.

YES ,YOU CAN PAY THROUGH ANOTHER PERSON BANK ACCOUNT BUT YOU SHOULD MAKE THE PAYMENT TO THAT PERSON BY CHEQUE .

It can be payable but the system generated challan will come on the name of the account holder only. This creates problem with assessing officers/income tax officials at the time of assessment for giving credit to
TDS etc. It is better donot do this.
