What is the treatment for GST under purchase return? Return through as sales invoice or Debit note?

Return through Debit note and not sales invoice.

Note that while raising debit note, the same shall be reduced from your purchases.
whereas if you return it by making sales, it will unnecessarily increase your turnover in P&L

You have to raise DEBIT note...

if you issue a sale voice and you are filing income tax under sec 44ad then it will increase your tax liability unwantedly
