Punishment for Late comining ........

Many of us are working in private sectors. There are a thumb rule in all organisation that is if you are getting late you have to punish for that, but on other way if you are sitting up to late hours that will not counted.

Q1 What is the right way to punish to an employee for Late comining in morning if he contibuting more then 12-14 hrs in a day?

Q2. If he getting late for 1-2 minutes a day the punishment will be deduction of half/full day salary. Means the employee works whole day (12-14 Hrs) but getting only 1/2 days pay ?? this is rubbish (isn't it)

Q3. The employer forced to stay them after office hrs (after that he doesn't have any work) without paying extra?

Q4.  What is the provision of Law regarding deduction/punishment to employee for late comining ?

Please advice
