Proof of receipt of payment

Hello,

I wish to know what documents should I maintain, as a company, to demonstrate that I have made a payment to a consultant. Should I get a receipt from the consultant and is a revenue stamp required? Thanks

1. Reciept from customer

2. Send a account statement and get it signed by the consultant

3. Bank Statement if payment made through bank
