24 December 2010Can anyone clarify my doubt regarding - "When a person is director in both companies, whether the both the companies should deduct Professional Tax from his remuneration and pay to the Government? Or Just one company pays his professional tax and thats enough.....He could give a declaration to the second company that his professional tax is already paid by the 1st company..???
Please Clarify my doubt...!!!!

Its is the liability of the Directors to pay Employment Tax @ Rs 2400/-p.a. [ Ref Serial No 2 of the schedule of WBST on Profession, Trades, callings and Employments Act, 1979. There should not be deduction twice.
