Problem of changing password on it site

Hello,

I want to change the password of my client on income tax site. I have given the details of PAN and Date of Birth after selecting the option of "Forgot password"

But after giving details, I am getting only 3 options:

1) Answer the secret question

2) Use Adhaar PIN

3) Upload DSC

Whereas my client has no DSC and dont remember the answer of secret question. My client's adhaar is not linked to IT site. For the first time, IT site is not giving the option of sending OTP to my mail id and mobile no. I want to file his return urgently for the last year.

I dont wat to tell him to try to change the password through internet banking as I dont know how to change it through internet banking.

Please help me.

call the help centre and also send a email from registered email id

 

Dear Aarti,
It's unfortunate that you're faced with such a situation. I'd recommend you two options:
1. Create the clients DSC. this is beneficial if the client is an tax audit applicable one.
2. Tell him to change password through net banking. he only has to login to his account after selecting his bank. then the option of resetting will appear.

Even if you call the income tax helpline they will say that they cannot help in this case and please reset the password with the options available. This happens in a very rare case and I have also faced such an issue twice. Get the digital signature of the client and then reset the password, the most viable option...

CPC does not entertain the third party calls, except the assesee 

however if the assesee wish to call and get help , they usually ask some basic questions from pan data, and then reset the same. 

best way is to get the OTP with aadhar or netbanking for unlocking

You should try guessing the answr for secret question....Luckily it may go right...jus try to guess...
