Problem in Tax...how to study??

Hello friends..

i gave my attempt in NOV10 n didnt clear...

i got 51 in tax... the problem i am facing is that i have the amendments applicable for may 11 and i have 2 books from which i prepared...1) vivek soni (calcutta) 2) singhania & singhania. of assessment year 10-11

now i am confused how 2 study with these previous years assessment books with current changes...if i buy a new book will it help me? or please suggest me how to study with the changes...urgent. please reply...thanx.

hey u can check all the amendment on icai site n can make the same changes in ur book thtz wat i did...

u can write the amended things on the paper n then keep it in the book and can cross those things which are not there....

Is there any way how to practise the sums? because the previous year books will have the solutions which is not according to the changes.

For practicing sums you can refer the same old book by answering it according to the latest amendments!!

For ammenments u can log on it icai site ...

& for sum u can just buy a practice manual of Tax 4m institute ... if u really want sums ... it contains all past year questions as well as solutions ..

or u can just continue with the same books but note ur answers wil surly differ now as u r calculating tax 4 assesment yr 11-12

You can download the amendments from the institute's website.

For working out problems, try doing the same from previous year books which you have.

After practising them, buy a practice manual from the institute. It costs just Rs 150/-.

Work out problems from the practice manual. It'll be more than sufficient if you do this.

You keep study your past book and give the due consideration in the recent amendment with CCI site. best thing is to refer only one book. More than one book means futher confusions will be bring.Please find the attached here with easy revision tax notes.

Keep a copy of amendments with you, underline most of the amendments in your book and consult the copy of amendment while solving a question involving amendments. solve the questions till total net income only. also solve more and more questions involving amendments,since examines tend to asks such questions. The tax liability will obviously change with the change in tax slab and amendments.
