Problem in e-filing of service tax return

2244 views 5 replies

While filing the Service Tax return online, the constitution of assessee appears to be others instead of Partnership Firm, by default. As a result it asks for the monthly details of service provided and service Tax  charged, instead of quarterly details. However  we have been registered as partnership firm and filing return accordingly for years. Please Help?

Sir, See the Demo which is available on the ACES Website.Your All query will be solved.Otherwise the procedure is simple just download the excel off line utility as we are doing  in incometax while filing Return and after creating xml file just upload it and check the status, if it show filed it means you return will be accepted by the dept.

Thanks

Dear Harsh,

We uploaded 1 return through excel offline utility after uploading if we go to :

1)Ret---e-filing---view status---then enter the return period, it shows nothing

2) Ret---View St-3/original St-3---then enter the return period it shows No records found.

Then how we'll get the receipt/acknowledgement No. and how we will know that return is filed or not?

regards & Thanks

Sir, If the "Status" is displayed as "Other" instead of Correctly displaying "Partnership", you should try to Amend ST.

I guess you must have obtained the TPIN.

You have to "Amend ST" onlien [Click on the various menus after you login]

In the window, you have to choose "Constitution", signatory details and other particulars which will be marked as "*" for mandatory.

Once you amend ST online, you will have to contact your Range Inspector, who does the further processing of amended ST. When he has finished, you will be able to upload the Eform.

I suggest you contact the relevant Range Inspector before you Amend ST Online.
