generally log on and screen saver passwords will be the same. Can i set it different. How to do it?

There is no such password called screen saver password. Your pc perhaps set to lock / require log in password after a specified time or at screen saver activation. So it is always same as per my knowledge. You set to show " on resume show log on screen" and your log on screen require password. so it happens.
