Can a Chartered Accountant who is an ACA who is a partner in a firm open his own proprietary concern with a different name? If yes, kindly let me know the formalities that are required to be fulfilled.

Yes a CA can practise in his own name. If he wants to practise he should apply to ICAI the name of his firm that he wants to practise. Please see this form 117
Once the name is approved he should register the firm through form 18
