Post office MIS

Sir on account of post office MIS we Father has been invested a sum of Rs 3.00Lac in the same account of mis in the name of my father Ihave also invested a sum of Rs 50000/-Sir I want to know that can I claim the deduction under section 80C for Rs 50000/-Sir please guide me.Thanks
