No, it is definitely not similar. But according to my knowledge a post-graduate degree in finance holds more value than a post-graduate degree in commerce

you have to give certain exams such as CAT, GMAT, NMAT, CMAT or MAT, etc depending upon which exam the b-school considers.
The placements in b-schools are very great and there are a lot of opportunities if grabbed well during the tenure of two years of master's degree. A lot of big companies as well as other companies recruit children from b-schools.
The total cost is kind of expensive to pursue a master's degree in India. It ranges from 16-17 Lac and above
