Hi...
As per the Companies Act, in a meeting,,,, to decide upon something, the show of hands is adopted first despite being a low level and unscientific method of taking counts... why shouldn't poll method itself be adopted first, as it is a more scientific method???
AS IN LAW U HAVE TO READ AND ACT AS PER THE ACT ONLY. MAY BE THE COMPANIES ACT MIGHT HAVE KEPT SHOW OF HANDS FIRST AS FROM THAT WE CAN EASILY MAKE OUT HOW MANY MEMBERS AGREE TO IT. ITS MUCH EASIER TO SEE THE MAJORITY HANDS INSTEAD OF GOING 4 POLL WHICH IS TIME CONSUMING COMPARED TO SHOW OF HANDS.
