In sec. 10(13A), nothing has been mentioned about furnished and unfurnished house. It will only says about "rent paid" and that can be for furnished house and can be for unfurnished house.
For claiming the deduction you only needs to take receipts from landlord and submit it with your employer.
So you can take the benefits of both payment.
