Bhumika I think u havent understood Mr.Arindam's doubt clearly.I dont think he is asking whether to fill exam application form.I think he is asking whether he has to re-register for final course.Mr.Arindam, I dont think there is no necessecity as far as i know but any how u contact icai directly to clarify ur doubt

there is no requirement of re-registration in case of final, if u want to change course from old to new then u have do

Concept of 5 attempts is not counted based on attempts you have appeared as you have understood but it means 5 consecutive attempts starting the next attempt due to you after you have registered, Immaterial of whether you have appeared or no.
How ever in case of the query in Question of Mr Arindam, If he does not intend to change over from Old to New, In my Opinion he need not get re registered, as he is a final year student & restrictions of 5 attempts stand for PE2 / PCC, only, But please Check with Institute better for you, Information will come from Appropriate & Authentic source
