Sir- You have to make time to study. Tell your wife and kids firstly that you have to clear an exam that is both good for you as well as the family. I am sure they will understand and cooperate accordingly.
You can do studies along with your 8th class boy, that is, while he is studying you too can open your study materials. See, that way both have each other's company.
Tell your wife to keep off relatives from visiting home in the next six months (applies equally to you) and cancell all out of station travels. Travelling long distance is such a waste of time!!
If you can carry materials to office and read during lunch hours (but this is risky as your boss may not like it). Try reading PDFs instead. :)
Sir, you have to work double hard cause a) you'r little old so naturally the brain is not tuned like a 18 or 20 yr old to grasp concepts fast and keep in memory b) family committments
You have to fight both these odds. You will be competing in the exam with these 18 or 20 yr olds so you have to prepare / dedicate doubly.
One advantage however is your work experience. You will be easily able to relate to a lot of topics in CA. In fact you will be able to understand and apply to situations at work and this could improve your work quality.
Sir, draw inspiration from the case of Mr. Bala of Prime Academy. He was 57, working in a bank in Chennai when he took up CA. At 60 he qualified to be a CA. He is co-author with Mr Pattabi for MAFA and few others.
It takes exceptional effort and dedication to pull off something like that at that age. You too can do it Sir.
Rgds
