Hi prasanna.
CA in itself is a self study course. and all these classes have started only in the last few years. so i would definitely say that u can study on your own without the help of any classes. all u need is the desire to understand the subject. read the institute text for theoretical knowledge of the subject and understanding the concepts and as for practical problems you can take up books of other authors as per your preferences.
what i would suggest for each subject is:
Financial reporting : M.P.Vijaykumar.
SFM: Gurukripa
Auditing: Kamal garg
Law : Munish bhandari
Costing: Gurukripa
ISCA : institute material
Direct tax: T.N.Manoharan
Indirect tax: N.S.Govindhan
once a complete study session of the papers are done it is preferable to go thru the practice manual published by the institute and also the past 3 to 4 attempts RTP, and case laws for tax (both). in case of may attempt it is very high recomended that you read the supplementry study material for both the tax papers.
