12 April 2011Hii.. I am cofused regarding the rate of corporate dividnt distribution tax for AY 2011-12 for Domestic companies.
my confusion is regarding the rate of surcharge applicable on CDT. The rate of surcharge has been reduced from 10% to 7.5% for Domestic companies.. so will the rate of sucharge on CDT would also be 7.5% or else it will remain 10% only.
Plz clarify ASAP :-))

CDT is 16.60875%
15% CDT, 7.5% Surcharge, 3% edu cess
worked out as under
15% + 7.5% of 15%
=15 + 1.125 =16.125
add edu cess 3%
16.125 + 3% of 16.125
16.125 + .48375 = 16.60875

@ Prabeer : Please note that it is MAT which is 18% tax rate. CDT is @ 15%
