penalty u/s 271

Please solve my query:

The assessee had claimed tour & travelling expenses to the tune of Rs 18 lacs but the Ld I.T.O had disallowed 30% on the grounds that the assessee was unable to explain each and every entries but the payments were made through credit cards only. The Ld i.T.O had add back 30% in net income and also issued notice u/s 271(1)(c).Is there any remedy to get rid of penalty.
