Pcc articleship carry forward to ipcc

hi professional,

my name is menon and i was doing my pcc from 2008 jan to 2010 april... which means i was doing articleship under a practicing chartered accountant. Due to several personal reasons i had to discontinue my course.

now my question is if i were to join ipcc do i get the previlage of carrying forward the articleship period from my pcc to my ipcc? can i pursue ipcc at all? and what are the related factors that i need to keep in mind?

i hope the answer to this would be long and highly explanatory .....

Yes, you will get adjustment of your previous training periods. One more think if u not submited 109 then u should meet with ur previous employer because ur articleship may be complete. U may also check ur articleship status online.

hey thanks a lot for that response.. ok i have the 109 signed by my previous employer.... but havnt sent it to icai yet.... will do that asap... and how do i move about with ipcc?

so technically so far as i understand.. as i have already done 2yrs and 4months of articleship training i would officially have to do just 8 more months ?

i also have my ITT training certificate so i assume i wudn have to do that again

and just making sure... i wudn have to give my cpt again is that correct...

( i know dumb qs... but jus makin sure.. )

Instead of IPCC, you can still pursue PCC course now as you have already registered for PCC earlier. Note that last examination for PCC students being conducted by ICAI is November 2012 exam attempt. After that every student must convert to IPCC. So you may utilise this chance to appear for PCC exams if you wish to do so.

thank you for the advice krishna... but im afraid thats too less time for me to get things back in order... so its gonna be later than that which mean i would have to take up ipcc... but one i do that does it make sense attempting one group at a time? advice please.

If at all you strongly feel that you want to join in IPCC course, then it is advisable to give both groups at a time. Make a perfect plan of study n adhere to it. As you already have done your articleship, clearing both groups of ipcc/final at a time will benefit you at the time of your campus placements or other interviews. Take atleast some time from now on to prepare for that attempt, so that cracking both groups is not difficult. Keep yourself updated with latest circular or announcements in icai.org for any subject amendments. All the best.
