Payroll accounting, is in relation to accounting of the Salaries of the employees. it refers to calculation of the Gross Pay to the employee, the deduction from the gross pay & the Net amount payable. the Gross pay should tally with deductions & the Net Pay.
Payroll tax means TDS made on the salary paid to the employee profession tax deduction from the salary of the employee etc.... there is also quarterly deduction towards Labour Welfare Fund.
