Hello,
I've filed TDS return for the Quarter ended 30th June 2013 late(on 8th August). Since there is a delay of 23 days, I've received a notice of Rs.4600/- which I want to pay. Now, how do I go about paying this and whether a revised return will also have to be paid?
Please suggest the steps for doing so.
Pay The Same In TDS Challan Under Head "Fee U/s 234E"
And
Revise Return Including This Challan
P.S.
Do Remember To Calculate Interest For Period After The 1 Month of Notice.

Would you recommend us to pay this penalty though? I just read that the Kerela High Court has granted an interim stay to a certain school regarding the 234E penalty. Is this stay only to them or the assessees of the entire nation?
Pay And Get Rid of It.
Its A Logical Penalty. Coz previously Deductor Didnt File TDS Return For Years And Deductors Used To Suffer....Hopefully Dept. Will Win The Case.
