Part a and b of form 16

Should the amount credited/paid shown in Part A of Form 16 downloaded from TRACES be equal to amount shown under salary as per section 17(1) plus that as per 17(2) shown in Part B of Form 16 before deduction/exemption of allwances prepared manually.

yes the amount under both are to be same.

But they will equal only if employer has file correct TDS return

& the employee has provided all the details in time regarding the loss of house propety or chapter VI A deduction.
