PAN of agent has been written on the sale deed instad of owner's pan
My client sold a property through an agent , giving power of attorney . The agent sold the land and the owner received the money . Owner showed this transaction in his ITR . In the sale deed PAN of the agent is written and. now the ITO has send demand notice to the agent . please suggest solution or any similar case law .

Produce relavent documents, specifically registration receipt of Sub-registrar as related to the query...... When the owner has declared the transaction in his ITR and paid his tax liability, the GPA holder will not be liable for double tax.
