In Your case PAN is already allotted and non receipt of it is due to the fault of courier agency or Improper Filling of FORM 49A. You also applied for a NEW PAN and if it is allotted you are holding two PAN cards.It’s illegal for a person or company to have more than one PAN Number. If caught, Income Tax Department can take a legal action or put financial penalties. You will have to surrender one of the PAN Number as soon as possible.
As a solution to your case, you have to first ensure where you apply for PAN card for the first time. NSDL or UTIISL. if you applied in UTIISL, go to nearby UTIISL office they can trace your PAN using your name with in time.
In other case, You can find out your PAN card number and jurisdiction on the Income Tax Department e-Filing website.(if you are registered user)
- To know your PAN details, follow these steps:
- On the e-Filing website https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ click on “Know your PAN"
- Enter your Date of Birth or Date of incorporation in DD/MM/YYYY format
- Enter your surname first, then enter your middle name and first name.
- Enter the Captcha Code as shown on the screen.
- Click on submit.
- You will receive the following details:
- PAN Card number
- First Name
- Middle Name
- Surname
- Jurisdiction
- Remarks stating with the card is active, inactive or in any other status.
If nothing works, the only solution is go to your nearby income tax office(main). In there consult the Information System Head and make an application to him showing valid grounds for applying NEW PAN card.
