This query is regarding a partnership firm where I am a partner.
We don't have a copy of the PAN Card right now, but we want to file a income tax return. Since e-filing is made compulsory right now we need to register the same on www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. But while registering on the same, we are getting an error stating "invalid date of formation". The date has been taken as per partnership deed i.e. 26/10/1997 but since right now we are not having the PAN Card copy we are unable to know the exact date of formation as per the PAN.
What shall I do to obtain the date of formation as per the PAN. I also check on the said website for under "Know You PAN". The matter is very urgent as 31st July is nearing and the return needs to file return before that date, since we are giving first priority for the same. We can apply for the duplicate PAN card later.
