Is there any way we can know our AO code online without going to the income tax department. Ayakar sampark kendra people say that they cant reveal it and we should contact a ca for this.

It's really a pain to find out the AO code online for applying PAN.

You will have to scan through the list and select the code which is applicable based on factors like first character in the name of the company, area pin code etc.

The department should come up with some way out. Would be great if it can be like, they should be able to let us know the code based on the inputs from us.
