Subject: Objectionable Statements about CA profession in "Sales Tax Review"

Issue-August, 2007- and June 2007 -Editorial Column

I have read Editorial for August 2007 issue of STPM's . On Pg 3 & 4 it has

been stated that" but the fact remains that majority of audit reports have

been signed by the Chartered Accountants who do not know abcd of sales tax

law. The CAs who do co-operative & bank audits ARE AVAILABLE AT MUCH CHEAPER

RATES." etc.etc.

Further in your editorial for June 2007 issue it has been stated in the last

paragraph that "resultantly the persons who don't have even preliminary

knowledge of sales tax have undertaken this (VAT AUDIT) job."

I raise my strong objection on statement given by Mr Partkar on editorial

page of esteemed Journal of STPM's Sales Tax Review. I urged to the

committiee of STPM to take necessary action to stop such type of remarks &

statements on esteemed CA Profession.
