NPS contribution of Employer 80CCD(2) Confusion ?

Sir/Madam,

I am Delhi government employee and want to know about NPS Employer's contribution 14% amount is to be added in Gross salary or not ? If it will add in Gross salary then same amount will have to show in Deductions also ?

Our department Account official not adding NPS Employer 80ccd(2) in income tax Green sheet since 3 years so plz confirm me that it is mandatory or not ?

If it's included in gross salary then the same can be claimed as deduction under section 80ccd(2).if not included in gross salary, don't claim deduction under section 80ccd(2)

Rama ji,

Actually problem is that if employer not added NPS Employer 80ccd(2) amount in gross salary then it would make any impact or Income tax office may send notice to us or can take action with penalty ?

Even if your did not include employer contribution in gross salary, you can add it to your gross salary while filing income-tax return and claim deduction under section 80ccd(2). there's nothing to worry about it since the same doesn't have any tax impact

Even we are not showing NPS employer amount 80ccd(2) in ITR also.... Then any problem happen ?

Mr. kuldeep, you are unnecessarily getting confused and nervous.
scenario 1: if employer included its nps contribution in gross salary then claim deduction to the extent of employers nps contribution under 80ccd(2)

scenario 2: if employer did not include its nps contribution in gross salary then while at the time of filing ITR, include it in gross salary and claim deduction under 80ccd(2) or don't include it in gross salary and don't claim deduction under 80ccd(2)
